COVID-19 safety plan

June 2, 2020

I am now offering piano tunings and in an effort to minimize the spread of the Corona Virus, I will be taking the following safety precautions when servicing pianos. I have to be extra diligent about these protocols since I have an elderly family member who is within my contact bubble.

Social Distancing

When possible, piano tunings will be scheduled while residents are not at home. If they are at home during the piano tuning, having residents in a different part of the house will be sufficient. I will wear a mask at all times as an added layer of precaution. I am happy to follow up by phone or video chat if further discussion or planning is needed.

Surface Sanitization

I will wear surgical gloves and will disinfect the piano and any other surfaces I need to touch before and after the piano tuning. I will sanitize my tools after every piano tuning.

Payment by e-transfer or credit card online is preferred. I will accept a cheque or cash if it is left on the piano for me before arriving.

For the safety of my clients, at this time I recommend not servicing pianos for anyone who is elderly, is immune compromised or might be more susceptible to illness for any reason. I will screen all clients before entering their home and will not be able to service pianos for:

– Anyone with symptoms of COVID-19 including fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat and painful swallowing

– Anyone under the direction of public health to self-isolate

– Anyone who has arrived from outside of Canada, or who is a contact of a confirmed COVID-19 case
