Tuning inside St. Pauls (on Bloor street near Church) was a very wild acoustic experience. In that giant room the the percussive whack of the hammer in the upper register notes resonated louder than the tone of the string.

Recently i was replacing the bass strings in the beautiful residence of the president of U of T.

We rebuilt some pianos from schools around Toronto over the summer, some of them complete with graffiti.

Most of the ribs had lifted from the sound board from this old mendelssohn upright. We glued and clamped them back together with clamps made out of piano wire, tuning pins and pinblock wood.

Recently I tuned a white grand piano on the 10th floor studio of the CBC for the new years special of the Ron James show.

Tuned ‘er up for a fancy wedding at the Royal York. Looked nice at first but there were spilled drinks, melted wax and broken glass all over the inside of the piano.

I put on a new set of bass strings on the nice Schimmel at the Danforth Community Church. The Lion of Judah was checking my work.
